Drunk Book Finds.

I didn't leave you guys with much content the past few days, so I am writing today to tell you about some shenanigans over the weekend... and by weekend I mean yesterday (Monday).

My girlfriend and I went to Hooters for dinner, because we can't get enough of the wings, and their nachos are the closest thing I can get to Mexican food here in northern Florida. Anyways, I drank some long islands, and got a bit tipsy. Not white girl wasted, but enough to loosen up a bit and not care about judgments. After Hooters, Catherine and I went to do some shopping. The first stop was the dollar store (which Catherine went to), and I went next door to Books A Million.... and I bought a few books. I haven't been much of a bookworm for a while and I really need/want to be, especially for my goals for my Day Zero Project!

Heres what I bought!
I know the movie just came out, but I haven't seen it, and I really wanted to read the book! Here is the Amazon synopsis: "In Beatrice Prior’s dystopian Chicago world, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue—Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is—she can’t have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself."

This one caught my attention because its 's set in the 1920's so I definitely want to read it!
Amazon's synopsis: New York City, 1924: the height of Prohibition and the whole city swims in bathtub gin.
Rose Baker is an orphaned young woman working for her bread as a typist in a police precinct on the lower East Side. Every day Rose transcribes the confessions of the gangsters and murderers that pass through the precinct. While she may disapprove of the details, she prides herself on typing up the goriest of crimes without batting an eyelid.
But when the captivating Odalie begins work at the precinct Rose finds herself falling under the new typist's spell. As do her bosses, the buttoned up Lieutenant Detective and the fatherly Sergeant. As the two girls' friendship blossoms and they flit between the sparkling underworld of speakeasies by night, and their work at the precinct by day, it is not long before Rose's fascination for her new colleague turns to obsession. But just who is the real Odalie, and how far will Rose go to find out"

Cinder is a Cinderella story told as Cinderella as a cyborg. Werid to hear, I know, but it sounded interesting to drunk Stephanie, so I thought I'd give it a shot!
Amazon's synopsis: Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl. . . .

Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future.

Last but not least, this wonderful book! Of course I like chick-flicks and the like, so I just had to buy this! Here is Amazons synopsis: Almost a decade has passed since Andy Sachs quit the job “a million girls would die for” working for Miranda Priestly at Runway magazine—a dream that turned out to be a nightmare.
